What the numbers mean.

Four ratings appear on every product sheet. This is how to read them.

NRC

Noise Reduction Coefficient

How much sound a surface absorbs, from 0 (reflects all) to 1.0 and above.

Our range: 0.85 – 1.10

STC

Sound Transmission Class

How well a wall, door or booth blocks airborne sound. Higher is quieter.

Our range: 55 – 62

IIC

Impact Insulation Class

How well a floor build-up stops footfall and impact noise reaching the room below.

Our rating: 58

Fire

Flame-spread classification

Surface burning performance to ASTM E84. Class A is the highest rating.
